HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II

The Lieutenancy of England and Wales of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem gives thanks to Almighty God for the life and Christian example of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Her Majesty’s Christian faith was the centre of her life of public service both in this country and the Commonwealth to which she was devoted.
Her steadfastness, devotion to duty, and love of people stood as an example to us all.

While faced from time to time with crises in family or country her common sense, love of people, and sureness of touch guided her through the changing times of a life of nine decades and a reign of seventy years. 

We pray that having faithfully discharged her oath of service and commitment  to the Nation and the Commonwealth made so many years ago now, she may achieve that heavenly reward which is promised by Jesus Christ to us all.

We pray that although she has departed this earthly life her example will live on and inspire all peoples in our lands who have know no other sovereign.

We pray also for Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, together with the new Prince and Princess of Wales and all the members of the  royal family that Almighty God may grant them the grace and strength to carry out their new roles in the example of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for whom we all pray that God may grant Her eternal rest in the expectation of resurrection in the Lord.
